Cabletron's EMME was the first management module to support the multichannel architecture of thr MMAC-FNB. It increases the MMACs networking power by enabling you to manage and bridge three separately repeated Ethernet segments in the same chassis, as well as a fourth external segment. The EMME provides full in-band monitoring and port level control for all three Ethernet channels in the MMAC chassis. It also provides administrative management control of multiple Token Ring and FDDI networks running simultaneously in the chassis. The EMME is SNMP compliant and can be controlled and monitored by a variety of SNMP network management packages. The module can also be controlled and monitored via a terminal connected locally or remotely with a modem.
