The TRMIM-42A is an Active Token Ring Media Interface Module designed for cabletron's MMAC series hub. It provides users with 12-trunk coupling ports for Token Ring network connections over Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) cabling, using shielded RJ45 connectors. The board features Ring Speed Fault Protection per port which prevents stations from inserting into the ring at the wrong speed and creating beaconing conditions. Every concentrator port on the unit features active circuitry that filters, equalizes and amplifies the received signal for transmission to the next station on the ring. This feature enables you to extend the lobe cable length between a connected station and the concentrator port with greater signal reliability. Each port supports up to 300 meters of STP wire between the active TRMIM and the station. Up to 250 stations per ring are supported.
